Angola’s Minister of Higher Education, Adão Gaspar Ferreira do Nascimento, and his delegation visited Bahia in May for a meeting between the Brazilian Ministry of Education and the ministers of Education from the Portuguese-Speaking African countries. The event addressed the possibilities for cooperation in the sector between Brazil and Africa.
On May 21, accompanied by Neusa Delavine Denga, Secretary; José Leopoldino Ndjamba, Head of the Multilateral Cooperation Department; and Luis Katoty Africano, Technician of the Higher Education Cabinet, the Angolan Minister visited the Organization’s head office. The group was welcomed by Maurício Medeiros, Executive Chairman of the Odebrecht Foundation, who presented the initiatives promoted in the Bahia Southern Lowlands, and by Norberto Odebrecht, Honorary President of Odebrecht S.A. and Chairman of the Odebrecht Foundation Board of Trustees, who addressed the topic of Education.
Odebrecht Infrastructure promotes the cooperation between a Brazilian university and the Angolan Ministry of Higher Education for the exchange of faculty members. The idea is to help improve the training of Angolan university professors and promote the financing and construction of housing units located in different provinces in the country, designed for professionals and visitors, as well as the future installation of the Ministry of Higher Education head office.
